Best Women's Golf Waterproofs UK (2026)
Rain often arrives midway through a round, so a waterproof jacket and trousers that live in the bag are among the most useful things a golfer can own. Modern fabrics are lighter and stretchier than they used to be, and adjusters at the hem, waist and cuffs mean women's waterproofs no longer have to look oversized. This guide compares rain gear tested by Golf Monthly, whose women's golf editor Alison Root wrote its guide with contributions from Carly Cummins and Katie Dawkins. Golf Monthly says its testers wear the jackets and trousers on the course over a number of rounds in different conditions, including wet ones, and have gone as far as pouring water over jackets to check how well the seams are sealed; it also says no manufacturer can buy a good review. All twelve items in its guide are covered here, six jackets followed by six pairs of trousers. The source does not rank them, so the badges below describe what each one does best according to the testers.

Our top pick
adidas Women's Ultimate365 Tour CLIMAPROOF+ Anorak Jacket
Most packable jacket
Golf Monthly's tester says this anorak impressed her beyond belief. She wore it on and off the course and found it so light you can carry it in the smallest of pockets. It is made from a recycled material but still feels silky on the skin rather than plasticky. The fit is regular rather than fitted, leaving room for a warm layer or two underneath. In testing it immediately blocked out gale force winds and the rain beaded off well. The all-over print and violet colour might divide opinion, and it is machine washable.
- Lightweight feel
- Excellent waterproof protection

Under Armour Drive Rain Women's Waterproof Jacket
Golf Monthly's tester says this jacket has protection nailed: it is 100% waterproof and has a mesh lining that makes it breathable. The polyester fabric has a fluorine-free water-repellent treatment that repels rain off the surface, which she says really works, and the zips are all seam-sealed. The protection does not compromise comfort or swing freedom, as the jacket is neither heavy nor too thick. Velcro cuffs and inner toggles let it adjust to different shapes and sizes.

Abacus Women's Bounce Rain Jacket
From sunshine to cold downpours this jacket excelled for Golf Monthly's tester, keeping her dry, warm and comfortable. The Stretchdry 15,000 three-layer breathable fabric held up under the sun without discomfort and gave the warmth and wind resistance needed in the cold, though you may need an extra layer in colder weather. The 4-way stretch gives a flattering, flexible fit. Practical touches include discreet zipped pockets, an adjustable toggle at the base, an adjustable neck toggle, soft elasticated cuffs and taped seams. The white version tends to show dirt around the pockets.

Best premium jacket without a hood
Galvin Green Abby Jacket
Golf Monthly's tester calls the Abby a real shift in looks for Galvin Green: a simple, contemporary style with a white stripe down each sleeve that is sporty and bright without being over the top, and more modern than the brand's Ally or Amy jackets. It uses a Pertex Shield 3-layer stretch fabric designed to keep rain out while staying breathable, with a membrane that pulls moisture away from the body. In testing it performed really well, keeping her dry and comfortable, and ease of movement was top-notch.

Best looking jacket
G/FORE Paneled Waterproof Hooded Jacket
Golf Monthly's tester says this is arguably the best looking jacket in the guide, in a twilight and pink finish where the colour, curving and shaping blend together nicely. She particularly liked how the slanted zipped side pockets in the same pink blend into the seams. It is not as long in the body as others, which she likes from a styling standpoint, but the look is more boxy and some women might prefer a longer length for more coverage. On protection it delivers in every way a good rain jacket should, and she enjoyed having a hood.

Most adjustable jacket
KJUS Women's Pro 3L 3.0 Jacket
Golf Monthly's tester says the high-quality fabric and thoughtful details set this jacket apart from the start. It uses various fabrics and bonded seams to regulate body temperature, keeping you breathable and dry without bulk. A Hyper 3D stretch panel along the sides, with a ribbed effect, adds flexibility and freedom of movement in even the heaviest downpours. The hem, cuffs and waist (via a drawcord in each pocket) all adjust for a flattering fit, and the pockets are soft-brushed. Subtle branding and a high protective collar finish the look, though the tester says a packaway hood would be a nice addition.

Best GORE-TEX trousers
Galvin Green Alina Waterproof Trousers
Golf Monthly says the Alina offers a flattering, non-baggy fit that layers comfortably over winter golf trousers. It uses lightweight, stretchable GORE-TEX Paclite, which keeps it comfortable and easy to pack away. During testing in light rain over 18 holes, the leg zips proved a huge convenience for slipping them on over golf shoes, and the fleece-lined pockets gave warmth and storage for tees. The tester used the adjustable hems and elastic waistband to get a snug fit, and the breathable fabric kept her dry without bulk.

Quietest lightweight trousers
Puma Women's DRYLBL Golf Rain Trousers
These trousers are made from a minimum of 70% recycled materials, which Golf Monthly's tester applauds. They are incredibly lightweight and fold up neatly to fit in the smallest golf bag space. The material is super quiet and does not rustle when you swing. Seam-sealed side zips stop rain getting inside the pockets, so hands stay warm and dry, and the StormCell technology repels rain water. The fit is generous enough to slip on over your trousers and light enough that you do not overheat.

adidas RAIN.RDY Waterproof Trousers
Golf Monthly says these are among the best lightweight waterproof trousers it has encountered for the women's physique, thanks to stretch and a generous cut that give unrestricted movement and a fluid full follow-through. They roll up neatly to fit into a small side pocket of any golf bag, and are quiet and comfortable. The material is designed to block wind and rain and keep you completely dry. The tester calls them an absolute essential buy.

Best premium trousers
KJUS Women's Pro 3L 3.0 Trousers
Golf Monthly's tester calls these top of the range, with features no other rain trousers have, such as a magnetically hidden shoe flap that stops rain seeping through your shoe laces. The best thing, she says, is the long two-way side zips, which open up to the thigh so there is no struggle getting them on and off over golf shoes. The fabric is exceptionally lightweight and stretchy, so she could move freely, with adjusters at the bottom of the legs and the waist. There are two zipped side pockets and a zipped back pocket, all with water-resistant zips. Playing in torrential rain, she found them superb.

Best choice of leg lengths
Abacus Ladies Bounce Rain Trousers
Made with a 4-way stretch waterproof fabric, these are really easy to wear and breathe well, according to Golf Monthly's tester, who says the fabric is paper thin. They still feel like waterproofs, only softer and lighter, and she has worn them over joggers or leggings. The style is flattering with many adjustable elements, including an extra popper at the top to tailor the waist. They have built-in pockets plus a Velcro entry to the trouser pockets underneath. Long leg zips make them easy to get on and off on the course, and they stand up to heavy rain and dry out really fast.

Warmest trousers
ProQuip Darcey Rain Trousers
Golf Monthly's tester calls the Darcey an incredibly comfortable pair of waterproof and windproof trousers. The material is super soft to touch and warm enough to be worn on its own without trousers underneath, yet light enough not to overheat, and it rolls up neatly to store in any golf bag. She found the noise-limiting swing silent technology particularly impressive, with no rustle at all. Velcro adjusters at the ankles tighten around your shoes to stop water seeping in, and a shock cord drawstring adjusts the waist. The generous fit will suit all body shapes, she says, particularly women with curves and a tummy.

Buying guide
What should I look for in a women's golf waterproof jacket?
Golf Monthly says to prioritise lightweight, breathable materials that keep you dry without feeling bulky, and stretch fabric so your swing is not restricted. Sealed seams, adjustable cuffs and drawstrings at the hem and waist help keep rain out and give a snug, flattering fit. A hood adds versatility, and a soft inner lining and fleece-lined pockets add comfort. Among the jackets here, the G/FORE Paneled has a hood, while the Galvin Green Abby and KJUS Pro 3L 3.0 do not.
What should I look for in women's golf waterproof trousers?
Golf Monthly says to focus on comfort, flexibility and effective protection: lightweight, breathable fabric with stretch for walking and swinging. Side zips at the ankles make trousers easier to get on and off over shoes, and an adjustable waistband and Velcro hems give a secure fit. Fleece-lined pockets are a plus. The KJUS Pro 3L 3.0 has two-way zips that open to the thigh, the Galvin Green Alina and Abacus Bounce have long leg zips, and the Abacus comes in two leg lengths.
What is the difference between waterproof and water repellent?
Golf Monthly warns that many jackets and trousers described as waterproof are actually only water repellent and, without sealed seams, are unlikely to protect you from heavy downpours. It recommends checking whether a model comes with a waterproof guarantee, and says most of the items in its guide do.
Are lightweight golf waterproofs warm enough for winter?
Not always on their own. Golf Monthly's testers note that the adidas Climaproof+ anorak will not keep you warm when temperatures drop, and that the Puma DRYLBL and adidas RAIN.RDY trousers are not the warmest unless worn over trousers. The Under Armour Drive Rain jacket is described as warm and wind resistant, and the ProQuip Darcey trousers are warm enough to wear without trousers underneath. Several jackets, including the adidas anorak, are cut with room for a warm layer underneath.
