Best Women's Golf Skorts UK (2026)
A skort gives you the look of a skirt with built-in shorts underneath, so you can line up a putt without worrying about coverage. The differences that matter are length, how the waistband sits, where the pockets are and whether a pleated skirt stays down when the wind gets up. This guide compares skorts tested by Golf Monthly, whose women's golf editor Alison Root wrote its guide with contributions from Katie Dawkins, an Advanced PGA Professional. Golf Monthly says it tests golf apparel by using it properly: wearing it out on the course to see whether the design is well thought out and whether it interferes with the swing, and off the course too to judge versatility, adding that no manufacturer can pay for a good review. Twelve of the twenty-two skorts in its guide are covered here. The source does not rank them, so the badges below describe what each skort does best according to the testers.

Our top pick
J.Lindeberg Serena Skort
Best structured skort
The first thing Golf Monthly's tester noticed is how well structured this skort is. It is not heavy, but it feels weightier than others tested, which works in its favour: the irregular pleats move elegantly while the fabric is substantial enough to stay down in the breeze. A side zip and a generously elasticated high waistband made it very comfortable. There is an open pocket on the right that blends into the pleat and a welt pocket at the back. It only comes in white or black.
- High performance functionality
- Elegant comfort

Best fuller fit
Peter Millar Women's Bingham Swing Skort
Golf Monthly's tester says this looks rather puffy on the hanger but is actually very feminine on. The pockets on the outer skirt make it look as if there is a lot of fabric, though they are a welcome resting spot for hands mid-round. The fuller fit was not a problem for the tester, who found it hides a number of imperfections, but very athletic women may find it an issue. There is a subtle zip pocket at the back, ideal for a car key although not quick to get into, and an inner pocket designed to hold a golf ball.
- Fit
- Fuller swing cut
- Pockets
- Outer hand pockets, rear zip pocket, two inner pockets
- Sizes
- XS-XL
- Colours
- 3 (Windsor Blue, Willow, Peony)

Best lightweight pleated skort
Under Armour Drive Pleated Women's Skort
Golf Monthly's tester says there is no denying this skort looks great on, with pleats gathering all the way round to give a lovely shape. The elasticated waist sits well, it moved beautifully and was comfortable, lightweight and moisture wicking. The skirt has fairly deep pockets that will take hands or a phone, and the short inner shorts have a pocket too. The problem came when the wind got up: the pleats caught the breeze and showed the very short inner shorts a lot, and the fabric got in the way while putting.
- Fit
- Elasticated waist, pleated all the way round
- Pockets
- Deep skirt pockets, one in the inner shorts
- Sizes
- XS-2XL
- Colours
- 3 (Midnight Navy/White, White/Halo Grey, Purple Crest/White)
- Fabric
- Skirt 86% polyester, 14% elastane; liner shorts 77% polyester, 23% elastane
Pros

- Deep pockets
Cons
- 360-degree pleats got in the way in windy conditions
Best longer length
Galvin Green Marielle Breathable Golf Skirt
At 18in this is one of the longest skorts Golf Monthly's tester has tried, which will suit golfers who find many skorts come up very short. The tester felt she needed to be taller for it, but found the fit flattering and says sizing down lifts the length without affecting comfort. The fabric is remarkably stretchy and silky, and the quick-drying VENTIL8 PLUS material offers sun protection and breathability. The inner shorts have no pockets, which took some getting used to, though front pockets in the outer skirt make up for it.
- Length
- 18in
- Pockets
- Front pockets in the outer skirt, none in the inner shorts
- Sizes
- XS-XXL
- Colours
- 5 (Navy, White, White/Navy, Pink/Fuchsia, Crystal Blue/Navy)
- Fabric
- 88% polyester, 12% elastane
Pros
- Longer 18in length will be gladly received by some
- Practical front pockets
Cons
- No pockets in the inner shorts
Best flowing skort
Abacus Victoria Skort
A 17in skort that Golf Monthly's tester found very feminine, with a flowing skirt that swishes as you swing and walk. There is a deep open pocket on each side and a zipped back pocket that sits unusually just below the waistband. The tester liked the depth of the waistband, which gives a secure fit along with the built-in shorts, and the soft, stretchy fabric has UPF 50+ protection. It felt light and airy to wear, and paired with the matching Victoria top it gives the impression of a dress.

- 17in
- Sun protection
- UPF 50+

- Two deep side pockets, zipped back pocket
- Sizes
- 32-46
- Colours

Pros
- Soft and flowy fabric

Best high waistband
Glenmuir Emeli Skort
Golf Monthly's tester first thought this might be a little long, but says the wide, high-fitting waistband is deceiving. Length is measured from the top of the waistband and varies by size: the size 8 worn was 47.5cm, while a size 10 is 48.5cm. It has a flattering A-line shape and gives the impression of a dress when worn with the matching Maisie shirt. The fabric is highly breathable, including the built-in shorts, and there are two invisible, deep zip pockets at the front. It comes in six colours and prints.

Sportiest skort
Under Armour Drive Jacquard Skort
Golf Monthly's tester calls this easily one of the sportiest pull-on skorts of the season, with a running-short look and feel. It has a separate elasticated waistband that sits comfortably and white piping down the side that curves at the hem. At 15in it is on the short side, but the built-in shorts with interior silicone grip gave a secure fit and the coverage the tester needed. The fabric is soft, lightweight and moves with you. The only downside is that the pockets are on the built-in shorts, one each side, so they are not easily accessible.
- Length
- 15in
- Fit
- Pull-on, elasticated waistband
- Pockets
- One each side on the built-in shorts only
- Sizes
- XS-XXL
- Colours
- 2 (Enamel Blue/White, Black/White)

Pros

Widest size range
Rohnisch Nicky Pleated Skort
Golf Monthly's tester found the pleats very pretty, though they do tend to balloon up in the wind, with undershorts beneath to preserve privacy. A large stretchy waistband is described as body sculpting and flattering, and it lets you swing unrestricted. The material is moisture wicking and quick drying with built-in UPF 50+ sun protection. There is one generous zip side pocket for tees but no rear pocket for a glove or scorecard, and the tester warns the length may look short on women with long legs.

- Sizes
- XXS-XXXL

Best shaping waistband
Swing Out Sister Molly Stripe Elite Pleated Skort
This looks tiny hanging up, but Golf Monthly's tester says that once on it has incredible shaping powers, with a thick, soft waistband that holds you in place. The pleated skirt is fun, the undershorts have a handy pocket, and the fabric is breathable and wicks moisture. The tester found it a joy to wear, versatile enough for multiple activities, and says it washes well and is easy care. It comes in four stripe colourways with coordinating tops and layers, and three plain versions of the same style are available.

Best zip and button fastening
Pure Golf Clarity Skort
Unlike many pull-on skorts, this one has a zip and button fastening plus belt loops. Golf Monthly's tester wore the Sands of Time print with a matching sleeveless top so the outfit looked like a dress. The classic shape is not clingy but is fairly fitted for a flattering look and should suit plenty of body types. It is a bit longer than others the tester tried this season and felt comfortable, with a waistband that has just the right amount of stretch. It is breathable, does not ride up and washes well with no ironing needed.
- Fit
- Zip and button fastening, belt loops, fairly fitted
- Pockets
- Four: two front, two back
- Sizes
- UK 8-20
- Colours
- 4 prints (Sands of Time, Mirrored Moonstone, Portrait of Paradise, Water Lily)
- Fabric

- Comfortable and flattering fit
- Non-crease
Cons

Best easy-care skort
FootJoy Aerial Skort
A fitted cut that ran short on Golf Monthly's 5ft 1in tester, who says that if you don't love a short hemline this won't change your mind, and that white can feel a little exposing. That said, the shape is described as genuinely flattering, with a gently curved hem and plenty of stretch in the silky 4-way fabric. Movement through the swing was completely unrestricted and the easy-care fabric can be worn straight out of the wash. The built-in modesty shorts stay put, the front and back pockets are useful and the moisture-wicking fabric kept the tester comfortable.
- Fit
- Fitted, short, curved hem
- Pockets
- Front and back
- Sizes
- XS-XXL
- Colours
- 4 (White, Black, Navy, Glacial Blue)
- Fabric
- 81% polyester, 19% elastane
Pros
- Comfortable and easy to wear
- Great for refreshing a white skort rotation
Cons
- Short length and the cut is fitted
Best low-maintenance skort
Puma Lana Skort
Golf Monthly's tester says the 2026 Lana pull-on skort lived up to expectations of Puma golf wear that is easy to wear, washes well and holds its shape. It has a classic A-line cut that skims over the hips and a deep, high-rise stretchy waistband that was comfortable from the moment it went on. There are two practical side pockets plus a white-trimmed back pocket deep enough for a scorecard or mobile phone. The fabric has a smooth, brushed feel, so it is very soft and allowed free movement. It comes in solid colours only.

Buying guide
What should I look for in a golf skort?
Golf Monthly's advice is to tick the boxes that are right for you, because everyone is different. Decide what length you are after, whether you want a pencil fit, a sporty fit or a more A-line shape, and whether it works with the shoes and tops you already own. It suggests shopping around and having a dark plain skort, a bright sporty one and perhaps a patterned one. A skort is simply a skirt with shorts built in, combining the freedom of trousers with the look of a skirt.
How long should a golf skort be?
It is personal preference, and the testers flag length skort by skort. The Galvin Green Marielle is one of the longest tested at 18in, and the Abacus Victoria is 17in. The Under Armour Drive Jacquard is on the short side at 15in, and the FootJoy Aerial ran short even on a 5ft 1in tester. On the Glenmuir Emeli the length is measured from the top of a high waistband, so it wears shorter than it looks, and the tester found sizing down on the Galvin Green lifted the length without affecting comfort.
Do pleated skorts blow up in the wind?
Some do. Golf Monthly's tester found the Under Armour Drive Pleated caught the breeze and got in the way while putting, and the Rohnisch Nicky's pleats tend to balloon up, although both have shorts underneath. The J.Lindeberg Serena is also pleated, but its weightier fabric was substantial enough to stay down in the breeze. A-line and fitted styles such as the Puma Lana, Glenmuir Emeli and FootJoy Aerial avoid the issue.
Can I wear a skort outside summer, or off the course?
Yes to both. Golf Monthly says the skort is not limited to scorching summer days: its tester wears one over a pair of warm leggings to brighten up a windy autumn round. It also says a skort should have multiple purposes, such as the tennis court or a day out with a T-shirt, and describes the Swing Out Sister Molly as versatile enough for multiple activities.
