Not always. Countryfile found many of the most popular brands shout about their environmental credentials, but despite a green colour or recycled plastic they are still single-use plastic bags. Of the bags here, the Ecowave corn starch bags are fully biodegradable, while BioExpert (blended with plastic), Earth Rated, Beco's recycled version and Rosewood are not.
How long does a biodegradable poo bag take to break down?
There's some argument over it, but Countryfile says a biodegradable bag can take from about 9 weeks to a year, which is still far better than a single-use plastic bag that can take hundreds or thousands of years to degrade.
Where should I put a used dog poo bag?
